Can't shut it down when I upgraded 10.5.8 to Snow leopard (10.6.2)

Sorry for my English. I upgraded the leopard to snow leopard last week. When I tried to turn it off, It always reboot itself.I am sure I pressed "shut down" button. I have checked my HD by using HD diagnostic tool. I don't know what's going on. Thanks a lot!

Options

Does the computer shut down if you press and hold the power button down? If it does you probably have a software not a hardware problem. If that is the case I would try a archive and install fresh install of Snow Leopard and see if that doesn't clear the problem. Ralph
