Display with verticale strips in colour?

MacBook Pro 15" 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo Model A1260

My MacBook shows verticale strips in blocks of pink and white at the sides and a block of green and black in the middle. And I can turn it on and off but that is it. No, other reaction.

Is the logic board defect? Or what else could it be?

Help would be great.

Thanks

Lius

Try hooking the computer to a external monitor to determine if the problem is in the logic board or the display or its cables. Link provided to previous question to explain the process. Good luck.

Why my LCD screen has a single vertical pink line?

Thanks for the answer.

I tried it twice but there is nothing on the other monitors.

So now I know it is not the monitor but the logic board, or ?

The A1260 model had recallable problems with the nVidia 8600 graphic processor (now expired), but you should be getting the same thing on the external monitor. Please check your external monitor hook up. Also please give us the last three figures of your serial number so we can make sure of which GPU you have. This issue is very well documented on this site.
