Confused about iPad RAM amount

Does it have 2GB of ram or 512MB of ram? Also what is the ram speed? (i.e. 1066MHz)

If you check out step 15 of the teardown, you can see that it has 256 MB of RAM, not 512.

Yes, but that was a revision. The initial report on ifixit was 512MB, at the time I posed my reply; the correct 256MB number was put in during a later update. :)

It has 512MB of SDRAM memory, unknown (at this time) speed. It's not anything like a netbook or laptop; the memory is not on a replaceable module or upgradable.
