Is there any possibility to change only the keyboard itself at a MacBook Pro 15" late 2008 (MB470)?

If you can find a pull from a working machine (say off eBay) with all the layers it can be done. There are circuits in the black plastic and a clear printed circuit board and those are what get shorted out so a plain keyboard replacement just does a third of the job. I've pulled these apart and just never found a way to repair them.

If you carefully pull apart the layers, you will get 3 different pieces as explained by mayer.

I am not sure about the keyboard working without the other 2 layers, I do know that their function ties into backlighting the keys.

I guess I am not really understanding your question, but I will do my best to answer it.

The keyboards for unibody MBP's are the last thing left after you remove the logic board. Currently I have one open on one of my workstations. The keyboard can be removed and replaced separately. We utilize eBay for most of these random parts. You can find many different combinations to purchase.

If you need help with actually replacing the keyboard reply here and I can answer anything you need to know!

Good luck!
