I need instructions on replacing the home button on iPhone 3G.

You can buy a home button with flex or just the flex on eBay . Replacing is very straight forward.. Simply take flex off back of home button and then put New flex on. You need to place flex through hole in midframe. Sometimes just lifting prongs on back of home button flex is enough to fix non working home button. Try this befor you buy new. Flex is cheap but if you don't have to replace it, it's even better!
