iPad no signs of life

Block Image

My iPad won't start up. No power on. Not posible to charge. Not posible to be recognized by PC.

Battery have 3.79 volts and not rising when charge directly with profesional Li-Po charger. When battery connected to iPad shows 0.00 volts. When plug in AC on motherboard battery pins shows absolutely no power voltage but on USB and power management area on motherboard shows 3.10V and 5.10V on resistors.

I read that to need be changed capacitors (there are four of them).

I need advice. iPad did not fell down just died middle of working with him.

Thank you

Have you tired putting it into DFU mode [recovery] then restoring it via iTunes.....?

Just a suggestion as opposed to a technical response...

Thank you for response.

Do you want to change the resistors or the coils? Your images are a bit confusing and I am not sure which ones you want to change. You have the capability of repairing this yourself? your iPad is the original iPad or which one is it?

optisis, the coils are both 3.3UH-3.25A coils. Both are part of the battery and charging circuit. the other thing I definitely would check, is the fuse. It isa critical component and is a 5A32V fuse. Make sure that you have continuity on that. It wont help you any if I link to a supplier in the USA unless you are here:-) let us know if you have trouble finding the components. Hope this helps, good luck.

Hello oldturkey03,

I have tried to see Fuse and Coils. Trough all goes power. Problem is on power side. On pin - is ground on pin + no voltage.

But I found something to see. Please look at first picture below red line are small golden dots on motherboard. When I pluged in USB they shown 5 volts. But on power pin + no voltage.

Please any solution.

P.S.: It's original iPad.

Thank you
