iMac wont turn on when powered

My iMac will not turn all the way on. When I press the power the start up screen comes on, the wheel spins and it goes off. I have unplugged everything, restarted and still no luck.

See if it will start up from your system installation DVD. Insert the disk and hold down the "C" key till the Apple appears on restart. This failing you may need to disconnect the internal hard drive. For directions please give us the last three figures of your serial number.
