I recently fixed the yellow light of death. It had a cd stuck inside it. The repair kit i ordered from ifixit worked wonders. But now when i insert my cd inside it doesnt read that theres a cd inside. When i try to eject it it makes a weird noise. Like a mini machine gun. I believe the cd drive thinks theres no cd inside. What do i do?

the mini machine gun sound is because you need to realign the ejection system. after replacing the blue-ray laser i always have to do that.
but you had YLOD, did you take the cd assembly apart?

I did take it apart. I tried what you said. It works now. Thanks. But now i have to give it a little push to take the cd in. Is something wrong with the sensor? If you know i greatly appreciate your answer.
Thats good news! Now you have to look for the small sensor at the front of the cd assembly. It connected to the motherbord with 2 fragile cabels. Maybe you broke it while dissasemble the ps3!(have done this myself once). If you broke the cables, try to repair or buy a new one.
