How to Repair/Upgrade after "beer-conditioning"?

Hello from Germany,-)

After my iBook G3 500 ot flushed with dark Beer, i hear the clickering of the HDD, the Start-Sound, but the screen stays black.

I can turn it on by pushing the startbutton in battery- or Power Supplymode. Both ways offer me the same result as descripted Taking apart the whole machine und cleaning it, didn´t improve Function.,-(

I tested to get the screen brighter with "fn"+"F2", but nothing happened.

I reckon, the logic board or the VGA-section got harmed!

So far so bad, ... so what?

Before the recorded Damage, i planed to Upgrade my iBook anyway, so i take this "external cause" as inducement to realize some Upgrades.

As far as i understood the ifixit-Guides its quite hard to Upgrade an G3 for applications that can be run by a nowadays working machine, such as a Standard-Netbook.

I want to use my G3 for Applications like IN-Browsing, Office, CD/DVD, ITunes (for my iPhone) and if possible an Batterylife in Ofice-mode for about 3 hours.

Necessary for the issues above:

dvd-drive

economical HDD (maybe SSD?)

New Battery (from an G4?)

Ram-Uprade (max 648MB with 500Mhz-Board?)

But as a basic principle, .. a new Logic Board,-)

The simple Question is:

Can i fit a G4 Logic Board along with convenient Metal Frame for the new Board, suitable connection Panel for the lefthand side, and...??

in the G3 Body?

I amfraid that not only these components have to be changed!

Has anybody done an alteration like that before? Or is it quite Impossible?

At first I want to keep my G3 AND want to use it! Daily!

Equally ranking, i´m mad about crafting,-)

Surely it´s a non profitable Project, but it´s about Fun, and if theres a Chance to rebuild a machine for uses as per descrption above, it´s worth the work for me,-)
