Replace classical LCD display with retina one

Hi,

I would like to know if the retina assembly display-you can buy it in Ebay- can be mounted on a classical macbook pro 2011.

Does it work the other way around too?

Cause the retina displays are a bit too expensive still.

Sorry square peg round hole problem!

The displays use different signaling. The older systems use LVDS the Retina series use iDP' It makes no difference which way you go they just don't talk the same singling dialog.
