4S logic board - small component fell off

Block Image

Hello iFixit community.

Today I was having a look at a 4S with a faulty home button, and when lifting the heavy glued battery I accidentally broke a small component above the WiFi antenna connector. It fell off the logic board, and will probably need soldering to put it back.

It's a rounded and very small component, similar to the WiFi antenna connector. The best way to see which component I'm talking about is to look at the attached image (taken from iFixit guides). I marked it with an arrow.

What's this component used for? I reassembled the phone and everything seems to work fine, except for the home button, which isn't working at all (but I suspect that's caused by its damaged ribbon cable).

Thanks in advance.

Neblinio, this is a RF test point. It's used for spectral mesures by service center. Without this part you can have coverage problem. And there is no binding between this part and the Home button.

Thanks for answering!

The lack of this RF test part definitely affects coverage, but only slightly.

Is there an easy way to fix it? I guess it's way too difficult to solder such a small part, so I was thinking about a special conductive glue like this: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/b70c/
