Lightning Cable and adapter Tear-Down

Seeing that the lightning connector is appearing more like an adaptive pin connector, will you be doing a Lightning cable tear-down (and the Adapter when it becomes available)?

I asked this question and Mike from iFixit told me they are working on a blog post right now about the Lightning cable. It must not be done yet.

Saw this link on MacRumors yesterday- Pins

Here's someone who ripped one apart already. I think they jumped to conclusions on this authentication bit because they completely missed the fact that it must reassign the pins.- Apple 'added authentication chip' to iPhone 5 cable to stop third-parties making cheaper versions
