long time downloads, "looking for networks" intermittently
I notice often that downloads take a very long time. As I look at the Airport icon, it shows the message "looking for networks" very often. Is this an Airport Extreme Card or antenna issue?
Update
Well, I wouldn't say solved, just changed. I am not sure how to mark it accepted, but I will cancel this and post another question, now that the symptoms have changed
Update
OK I have run diagnostics on the network activities. First of all the router is fine. Other devices (older MacBook, Iphone) work just fine in networking, and using the wireless router.
As I monitor Network Status diagnostics Wi-fi, Wi-fi-settings, and Network Settings remain green constantly. ISP, Internet, and server go red intermittently, not all at one time ISP may turn red and the others follow. When red, I have internet/mail communication issues, when green, all is well.
I have only had this computer a little over a year, but foolishly did not get the extended service :(. Any ideas?
Update
As I have been writing this answer, I have not seen any changes in the network status, and communication is great
Is this a good question?

Time Warner Cable modem. Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router <6' from Macbook. Other devices do not seem to be having same problem.

So the problem is solved? If so then mark something as accepted so that we can clear this from the unanswered queue. FWIW P2P sharing activity on your (or other) machines can overload or stall your router (some brands are more susceptible to this than others). A wireless network wold inform you of the stall, on a cabled connection would go unnoticed until you tried to load a new browser window.
