Stories

My Problem

Spill of Chicken Soup on Keyboard. Chicken Soup is great for the soul not so much for macbooks.

My Fix

Took 2 hours. Great online guide and video. First time to delve this deep into a notebook computer.

My Advice

I think keeping screws organized helps. I numbered bins on an ice tray and then wrote numbers on the printed instructions to identify screws. There are some subtle differences. You will need the spudger and the tri-wing. Used post-it notes to hold trackpad in alignment while tightening.

My Problem

Keyboard - due to a spill. Hard drive - due to wear and tear plus wanted more space

My Fix

Guides were great and easy to follow and very helpful

My Advice

One thing the guide didn't mention is remember to take the shock mounts and metal nubs from your old hd and use on your new hd.

My Problem

Daughter spilled juice on keyboard

My Fix

perfect

My Advice

no

My Problem

My son spilled milk on his MacBook keyboard. Nuff said... :(

My Fix

The replacement part was perfect. The online guide with photos and the instructional video were amazingly helpful. The keyboard is replaced and the MacBook is working perfectly!!! Thanks!!

My Advice

You can do it!! Look at the instructional videos of the repair you might want to attempt. It really is as easy as it looks. I would however recommend that you purchase the special tools they suggest. These are not that expensive and they were essential to my repair. Very pleased with my purchase and experience.

My Problem

We were having to use a USB keyboard plugged into a laptop and it was ridiculous

My Fix

It was relatively easy with the assistance of the guide.

My Advice

Definitely acquire the correct recommended tools for the job - especially the tri-wing y0 screwdriver needed to remove the battery. There is not another tool in the world that will do that task!
