PC2-5300 2 GB RAM Chip

$49.95

Product code: IF111-027-1

Product Overview

The battering ram was once the quintessential weapon for bombarding your enemy's gates. In light of a serious decline of gated enemies, however, these intrusive logs have widely fallen out of use. Owing to the passage of the "Weapons To Gizmos Act" in 1966, these ancient weapons have been subjected to a myriad of experiments to discover alternative uses.

The most common repurposing has been the chipping of these timeworn battle devices for computer components. Aptly named RAM, today, these chips are widely available to give your computer the raw force of primitive weaponry. Breach the gates of speed potential in your computer today with PC2-5300 2 GB RAM chip.

NOTE: Works only in computers with Core 2 Duo processors. This chip will not work in computers with Core Duo processors. Due to hardware limitations, Core 2 Duo machines can address a maximum of 3 GB of RAM, even if two 2 GB RAM chips are installed. The Santa Rosa chipset Core 2 Duo MacBooks and MacBook Pros do not have this limitation and can address a full 4 GB of RAM.

My Problem

I neded more ram becaus i am vorking a lot with diferent programs open

My Fix

I received the ram in my mailbox at only 6 days after i ordered from you :-)

The repair was fixed after 2 minutes :-))

My Advice

Only from your website

My Problem

I needed more GB Ram to be able to get more apps for my Mac.

My Fix

Great! The directions were very easy and understandable.

My Advice

NO

My Problem

It's 2012 - 2 gigs of RAM just isnt enough. So I did the best I could and upped my computer to its max of 3 gigs.

My hard drive wasn't showing any signs of failure, but since I was doing some computer surgery, I figured it would be a good time to go from a 120 gig 5400 rpm to a 500 gig 7200 rpm hybrid drive.

My fans - well, they could be heard from down the street they became so noisy and inefficient.

My Fix

It took me about one hour to replace everything. With all of the tools I needed and the detailed guides, it couldn't have gone smoother!

My Advice

Repairs on a laptop - not so tough when you have detailed instructions on what you're looking to do!

My Problem

for inst. af lion

My Fix

OK

My Advice

Hurtig ekspedition

My Problem

Needed to upgrade my wife's old MacBook to Lion and she only had 512MB of RAM which didn't meet minimum requirements.

My Fix

Super smooth thanks to the ifixit guide. I'm not a mac guy but ifixit's guide made it extremely easy to identify which RAM chip I needed to purchase and how to install it. Also, ifixit sold the RAM chip for 50% cheaper than the Mac store in downtown San Luis Obispo.

My Advice

If I knew the repair experience would be this easy I would have done it a while ago.

My Problem

The 320GB internal hard drive on my 24" iMac Intel died. I replaced it with a 1TB drive and, while at it, maxed out the RAM to 4GB. I used the 20" iMac repair guide which was very close. It is not the first time I used iFixit guides. I also fixed an old MacBook a few years back. I love you guys!

My Fix

It went peachy. Everything worked beautifully when I was done.

My Advice

Follow the instructions on the repair guide and all will be fine

My Problem

I wanted to install LION but only had 1GB RAM in my older Macs.

My Fix

Easy! Gentle but firm pressure seated the new 2GB cards and now each computer enjoys 4GB. Installed LION with no issues. Now learning how to use the new features.

My Advice

Your guides offered just enough. The pictures exactly matched my Macs and gave me the confidence for a DIY. I should be able to stretch these Macs at least to the next major OS release.

My Problem

I found my macbook increasingly inefficient when dealing with editing programs this was beginning to hamper my work.

My Fix

Easy-peezy... half an hour or so and it was all installed. I also brought a cheap HD enclosure to put the old HD in. I then plugged this in to the mac, it automatically rebooted from this and I was able to reformat the new internal HD and transfer all the data using Superduer.

My Advice

Compared to buying a new mac this upgrade saved me loads of dosh-not to mention the resources used in making a shiny new product. We shall see how it holds out but for now I am happy with my lighting fast machine. Make do and Mend- that is the watchword.

My Problem

I was trying to edit video using the Camtasia program. My computers' installed 2GB of RAM was way too slow - lagging and freezing - to allow practical use of the software. So, I opted to expand my MacBookPro #A1260 to 6GB of RAM.

My Fix

Easy... After you remove the RAM shield the computer practically offers the installed RAM to you.

I just used the pointed ends of a couple spudgers to move the metal clips holding down each RAM chip. The assembly holding the chip is spring-loaded and flips forward, allowing you to remove or install memory.

I removed two 1GB RAM chips and installed a 2GB chip and a 6GB chip. They worked upon reboot without any problems.

My Advice

None what-so-ever... installation guide was perfect.

My Problem

I asked the Apple rep at a store how much memory I could put on this laptop. The answer was 2GB. I'm developing numerical models that require lots of RAM, and the O.S. takes about 1GB. So I was thinking about doing a laptop upgrade.

My Fix

The kit I got for doing the HD replacement was useful, as the screws are very small. I experienced absolutely NO difficulty with this "operation".

My Advice

The instructions were clear. There isn't any more advice I could give.
