iPhone needs to be activated but has a password

History

Have a water damaged iphone... that i need to back up.

It turns on to the plug-in to itunes screen as if it has never been activated.

Unfortunately it has a password (which i know), and will not activate the phone because iTunes complains about entering the password (which i can not enter because it's not activated)

Also the Power button is broken so i can't hactivate with redsn0w. It's not the flex cable, already tried that.

any ideas? all i need to do is back up the phone.

does anybody know if ideviceactivate will activate a phone when iTunes won't? https://github.com/posixninja/ideviceact...

Ryan,

can't get ideviceactivate to compile. anybody have a binary?

Ryan,

It's not an official solution but I felt that you are in a serious ambiguity of issues. Download Absinthe v 2.0.4. Connect your notorious iPhone to your computer and open Absinthe 2.0.4. And click on Jailbreak. You don't need to touch anything (not even the power button) since Absinthe is so smart in jail breaking iDevices on one access and without user guided intervention. Let me know of your output. Cheers!

Redsn0w has a new forced DFU mode (that dosn't require using the power button) that would have probably helped in my situation.
