Thermal Paste Question for video card

Are there two different kinds of thermal paste on the iMac model a1224 2.66 AMD video card? Will Arctic Silver work for all five contact points? When I disassembled the iMac the video card seemed to have two different kinds of thermal paste.

No, you can’t use the same TIM across all of the chips!

The GPU its self needs a thin TIM like Arctic Silver5, The VRAM chips, the four chips around the GPU need either a thick gaping paste or better yet thermal pads!

Dry fit the heatsink and then use either a feeler gage or a bunch of strips of card stock to place between the VRAM chips and the heat sink, then measure the thickness. You want something just a little thicker.
