This may help: ZAP the PRAM - hold down the option & apple keys also the P & R keys and restart. Continue hold the keys till you have heard three bongs. Test the drive again. If it doesn't work I would replace it. Take the battery out see if there is a tag inside that tells us exactly which iBook you have. I will then be able to direct you to where to get a replacement drive and how to put it in.
Ok, I have an iBook G4 computer with 1.5 GB of RAM and a processor of 1.33 GHZ. Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8. 12 Inches. I live in El Salvador, Central America. Help!!!
Here's a Combo drive that will work for you: http://www.ifixit.com/iBook-Parts/iBook-... The superdrive, in my opinion is much to high.

Does it eject all disks or just burned disks? CD's or DVD's? All brands of disks, original disks say from Apple?
mayer,
The iBook G4 I am talking about ejects any discs that is inserted in it, it is to say: blank discs, burned disc, used discs, cleaned discs, CD, DVD, and also the installation discs. So I do not know what to do, I do not know if damaged at all or can be repared at some way. HELP!!!
