iMac wont start-up. No video no start-up chime

History

iMac wont startup. No startup chime either. I can hear the CPU fan and some kind of "click" in the hard disk area. Sometimes (rarely) only a white screen. I cant start up form an external or dvd because nothing appears. I tried removing the ram, test one by one and with known good ones.

Any idea?

Your idea on testing the RAM was good. The next thing I would do is remove the frame so you can eyeball the diagnostic lights to the right of the RAM. There's really nothing listed to point to an answer yet. Did you hold down the option key when trying to start from an external or the shift key to try to start in safe mode? Do you have another Mac for Target Mode? Click on the step-by-step guides to your right to get to the frame guide.
