SSD HD not showing up in OSX re-install?

Hi All,

I've just recently put a Kingston SSD in place but it is not showing up in the "install location" option that you are prompted with when re-installing the OS, it is simply a blank field.

Pretty sure all cables (SATA, Power) were reconnected properly (although I will be disassembling again tomorrow to doublecheck...)

Sorry, it's a 2007 24" iMAc and I'm re-installing Snow Leopard OSX from the disc..

Any other ideas at all?

Ryan

Answer this question I have this problem too

Probably you put a SATA III SSD on your SATA II system and it didn't/can't automagically negotiate a satisfactory speed. You may have to manually jumper the SSD, or, choose a different drive.
