Turtle Beach Pure Air Not Charging
The Turtle Beach Pure Air Wireless Mouse does not charge when connected to a USB‑C cable, suggesting a potential problem with the charging port, cable, or internal battery.
Charge port is clogged
Dust, lint, or debris inside the USB-C charging port can prevent the cable from making proper contact.
How to Diagnose
- The cable does not sit flush or wiggles loosely in the port
- The mouse only charges when the is held at a specific angle
- Visible debris inside the port
How to Fix
- Power off the mouse.
- Inspect the charging port using a flashlight.
- Use a can of compressed air to blow out any loose debris.
- If debris is stuck, gently remove it using plastic tweezers or a wooden toothpick
Avoid using metal tools to prevent scratching or bending the internal pins
- Reconnect the charging cable and check if the mouse begins charging normally.
Faulty Cable or Charger
A damaged cable or low-quality charging brick can prevent the mouse from receiving power.
How to Diagnose
- Cable feels loose or frayed
- Charger works intermittently
- Other devices also fail to charge using the same cable or brick
How to Fix
- Test the mouse with a different USB-C cable.
- Try a different USB power source, such as:
- A different charging brick
- A USB port on a computer
- A powered USB hub
- If the mouse charges with a different cable or charger, replace the faulty accessory.
Device charge port is faulty
The internal USB-C port may be damaged from repeated stress, bent pins, or internal solder failure.
How to Diagnose
- The cable fits loosely even when debris is removed
- The port wiggles or feels unstable
- Bend or missing pins are visible inside the port
- The mouse only charges when pressed is applied to the cable
How to Fix
- Power off the mouse
- Inspect the port for bent pins or physical damage
- If pins are slightly misaligned, you may very gently straighten them using a plastic tool.
- If the port is loose, cracked, or severely damaged, the port will need to be replaced.
- Follow this guide on how to replace the USB-C port.
Device battery is faulty
Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries degrade over time. A dead or swollen battery will prevent the mouse from charging or powering on.
How to Diagnose
- The mouse only works when plugged in
- Battery percentage drops rapidly
- The mouse becomes unusually warm while charging
- The battery appears to be swollen or misshapen
How to Fix
- Power of the mouse.
- Open the mouse.
- Inspect the battery for swelling, discoloration, or damage.
- Disconnect the battery from the motherboard using this guide
- Replace the battery with a compatible battery.
- Reassemble the mouse and test charging functionality.
