Panasonic DMP-BD89 Troubleshooting

A troubleshooting guide for the Panasonic DMP-BD89

Player won't show signs of turning on

  • Check the power outlet to ensure that it is providing power. If necessary, test with other devices or check other outlets.
  • Check that all cords are properly connected and that there is no damage to the cords. If the cords are damaged then replace as necessary. Check if the power light turns on after replacement.

Disk is inserted but unable to play

  • Try to clean using microfiber, using outward strokes from center to outside edge
  • Test using another disk. If it works then original disk is faulty.

Player is unable to access the internet

  • Make sure your wireless network is working with other devices, and is set up according to your internet provider’s specifications
  • If it is only the wireless reciever that is broken, try running an ethernet cable into the port labelled “LAN” on the back panel of the player.
  • If this does not provide internet access, consider replacing the WiFi Module, see Panasonic DMP-BD89 Wifi Board Replacement for details.

Player is turned on but is unresponsive

  • Unplug all cables and USB devices from the player
  • Unplug the power, wait for 30 seconds to a minute, and then reconnect and turn on the player.

Unable to watch Youtube app. It was working perfectly until there was a power cut and when it was restored and I wanted to watch a program in Youtube, there was a message saying Internal Communication Error and something regarding “Opera.help” ?

The model of my panasonic blu ray is DMP BD89 which is not included in the list of panasonic devices that google decided to terminate its YouTube service .

I reset my device, wifi is perfectly working, I can enjoy netflix services but not Youtube.

Could you please help me with this issue?

Thank you.
