Phone not charging
Your Moto G7 Play won’t charge when plugged into the charger.
Faulty charger
If the device won’t charge, it could be due to problems with the physical charger. Look at the end of the Type-C cable and clean the opening with a cotton swab or fine cloth. Attempt to plug in a new charging cable or replace the wall charger. If cleaning or replacing the charger doesn’t work, then the problem will most likely be the device battery.
Faulty battery
After 2 years, a phone battery might not have a long battery life and can drain fast. First, look at the battery and check if there’s any damage. If a replacement is needed, look at our replacement guide.
Rear camera not functioning correctly
Your Moto G7 Play’s camera is blurry or won’t focus on a small object.
Dirty camera
If your device’s camera won’t focus and pictures are blurry, open the camera settings and verify that you do not have the lowest pixel density, the 19:9(5MP) option, selected. If this doesn’t solve the problem, then try cleaning the lens of the camera with a smooth fiber material to avoid scratches on the lens. Also, avoid using the camera when the battery is less than 10 percent because the device will shut it off automatically.
Damaged lens
If the blurriness or focus problem still has not disappeared, remove the pre-installed glass guard. After removal, verify if the camera is still blurry. If it is, then your device’s lens may have a problem. Refer to our camera replacement guide to replace it.
Phone not turning on
Your Moto G7 Play won’t turn on.
Uncharged device
Often, when a device is left uncharged for a long time, it may not turn on. Plug in the device to a charger for 15 to 30 minutes, then turn the device on. If the device still doesn’t turn on, it could be due to software issues.
Unresponsive screen
If your device is unresponsive, it may display a black screen and not be able to function. First, hold the power button for 20 to 30 seconds and verify if the device attempts to power on. If the display shows the battery is dead, charge the device. If this doesn’t fix the software issue, then the battery may be faulty.
Faulty battery
The last option for fixing a device that won’t turn on is replacing the battery. Refer to the “Phone not charging” section for additional alternatives for a faulty battery. Consult our battery replacement guide for further instructions if the problem remains.
Abnormal screen display
Your Moto G7 Play keeps on flickering or has streaks in the display.
Glitching screen
First, turn off your device and wait a few minutes before powering it back on. If the problem persists, it may be an issue with the setting or the software. Refer to the following sections below.
Incorrect brightness setting
Check if your device has an adaptive brightness setting. If it’s enabled, disable it and verify if the problem persists. If the problem continues, adjust the brightness manually to verify if it occurs at all brightness levels.
Software issues
If the solutions above don’t work, verify if the device is updated to the latest version of the operating system. We suggest checking all the solutions above before you consider replacing the screen. If you do need to replace the screen, you can follow this screen replacement guide.
Speaker has a buzzing sound
The Motorola G7 Play has a buzzing sound when the speakers are used.
Debris in speaker
Shine a flashlight into the speaker area and check for debris. Additionally, inspect the charging port of the phone and the headphone jack to see if there is any loose dirt or sand causing the buzzing. Use a cotton swab or a fine cloth to clean out any debris spotted. If both the speaker and charging port are clean and the problem remains, there may be an issue with the software or speaker.
Software not updated
Oftentimes, an older software version may cause audio problems. Go to the device’s settings page, click on the system details, and verify the current Android version. If the system is outdated, update the software to the most recent version. However, if the version is updated and the problem remains, the speaker may have to be replaced.
Faulty speaker
Try to adjust the volume up and down to verify if the buzzing occurs at all volume levels. Verify that the buzzing only occurs at high volumes, which is often the cause of the problem. If all the previous solutions do not work, the speakers may need to be replaced. Refer to a speaker replacement guide.

Phone is powercycling every 3 seconds. Happened after a screen repair.
Problem persists, even after removing the battery and powering via charger.
Any ideas

I do German classes. Sometimes I put my phone down whilst I quickly look something up. On three occasions my lesson has vaporised when I picked up the phone. The square icon and the home icon cannot find any trace of upto 30 minutes of work. Where is it going and why? The App is fine. Is it a screen gesture problem ?
