Before trying to troubleshoot your Motorola C139's problems, try resetting the phone by turning it off and back on or by removing the battery.
Phone won't turn on ¶
No matter what you do, you can't get your phone to turn on.
Charge the battery ¶
Make sure the battery in the phone is fully charged. Plug the power chord into the phone and a power outlet.
Hold power button ¶
Hold the red power button for about 5 seconds. If this does not turn the phone on the problem may be with a loose or bad battery.
Take the battery out ¶
Remove the battery from the back of the phone and wait 30 to 60 seconds. Put the battery back into the phone and see if the phone will now turn on.
Replace the battery ¶
It may be necessary to purchase a replacement battery. Look at the battery guide for help removing the old battery and installing a new battery.
Calls are not connecting ¶
The phone is unable to call anyone.
Check Signal ¶
The phone may not be receiving a signal. Check the signal icon to see if you are connected to the network. If you have no signal, relocate to a new location.
Replace Sim Card ¶
The Sim card may be missing or was damaged. The Sim card may need to be replaced.
Replace Antenna ¶
The antenna may be damaged and may need to be replaced.
Phone automatically turns off ¶
When the phone is put into standby mode it turns itself off.
Charge Battery ¶
The battery may have died. Plug the power chord into the phone and a power outlet and see if it will charge.
Change settings on the phone ¶
Your phone's standby mode may be activating causing the phone to automatically turn off after a period of time has passed. To check whether this is the case, check the settings menu on the phone to see if standby mode is activated.
Battery not charging ¶
If your phone's battery is not charging there may be one of several reasons for this issue.
- Weak battery
- Broken power adapter
- Faulty electronics
Replace Battery ¶
After identifying the battery is at fault the main course of action is to replace it. Please consult how to remove your battery.
Replace Charging Cord ¶
The charging cord may be broken and need to be replaced.
Phone is not vibrating ¶
The phone no longer vibrates or has a weak vibration
Replace Vibration mechanism ¶
If you have noticed that your phone no longer vibrates the vibration mechanism may be broken and needs to be replaced. Follow the guide to replace the vibration mechanism.
Speaker Broken ¶
No sound is coming from the phone.
Replace Speaker ¶
Your phone's speaker may be faulty. Following the steps in the guide to replace the speaker.
Sticky Keypad ¶
The keypad is sticky due to a spill or for another reason.
Wipe Keypad ¶
Before taking the phone apart. This problem might possibly be fixed by lightly wetting a cloth and wiping the keypad gently.
Replace Keypad ¶
The keypad may need to be replaced or taken out for more intensive cleaning. See the guide for replacing the keypad.
Cracked Casing ¶
The phone was dropped and now the phone casing is cracked.
