Laptop Is Not Charging ==
The laptop does not charge when plugged in even for extended periods.
The charger may be faulty
Try charging a similar device with the same cord used on the laptop in order to determine if it functions properly. If the cord cannot charge any other devices it could be faulty and a new one should be purchased. Some charging cables and bricks come with a lighting indicator that it is functional. Check for this indicator to ensure that the charger is working properly.
The battery may be faulty
If your charger does work properly, the battery may be malfunctioning. You will need to replace the battery.
Laptop Touchscreen Does Not Work
The laptop’s touchscreen does not respond to user input, response is delayed a substantial amount or is inaccurate
The touchscreen function is not enabled/driver missing
The touchscreen requires a driver to work. Make sure you have the right driver installed. If the right driver is installed, try reinstalling it. After making sure the driver is installed, check to see if the function is enabled.
The screen is dirty
If the touchscreen is dirty, its responses may be inaccurate or delayed. Try cleaning the laptop screen with electronic safe wipes.
Keyboards/Keys Not Working
The keyboard does not respond to keypresses/The key does not press down or is stuck.
The keyboard may not be functional
Check to see if every key is unresponsive. If the entire keyboard does not respond, you may need to replace the keyboard.
The key may be stuck
There might be something under the stuck key so remove the offending key and make sure there is nothing below it. Wipe the area underneath the key and replace the key.
Laptop Runs Very Hot/Overheating
The laptop feels hot to the touch more so than usual. The laptop shuts down because it is too hot.
The laptop is not getting enough ventilation
Make sure you are not using the laptop in an enclosed area. Ensure the vents are clear of any obstructions.
Thermal paste was improperly applied
There might not be enough thermal paste on the heatsink to properly transfer the heat away from the components. If this is the case, you will need to reapply the thermal paste.
Fan may be getting stuck/broken
There is a possibility the fan is not operating the way it should due to getting stuck. Power down the laptop, let it cool off, then clean the fan. This should remove any dust slowing down the fan. If cleaning the fan doesn’t work, the fan may be broken and needs to be replaced.
Laptop Doesn’t Boot Up
The laptop will not boot up to the Operating System(OS) and instead an error message shows.
The OS may be corrupted
If the OS becomes corrupted or damaged, the laptop will fail to boot. In this case you need to install a new copy of the OS.
New hardware recently installed
If your device is failing to boot and you have installed new hardware recently, the new hardware could be the cause of the issue. If the hardware was not installed or configured properly it could cause the device to be unable to boot. Ensure that the hardware is properly installed.
The hard drive may be faulty
If the laptop continues to fail to boot, the hard drive could be faulty and needs to be replaced.
