BLU Life X8 Troubleshooting

This page will help with diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with the BLU Life X8.

The touch screen display works, but is unresponsive to user input

If the screen is on and not responding to any input, hold down the power button to turn the display off and on again. If the problem persists move on to the hard reset.

A hard reset will delete all the data off your phone, so make sure to backup any data that you can.

To begin the hard reset, first turn off the phone. Then hold both the power button and up on the volume switch till you see the BLU logo. Once the BLU logo appears, release the power button. Make sure you keep the volume up button depressed until the system menu appears. When the menu appears, use the volume key to select the “wipe data/factory reset” option. Tap the volume up button to confirm. Your phone has now been reset to factory defaults.

If after both the soft and hard reset the touch screen is still unresponsive, your motherboard may be defective. To replace the motherboard, please see our guide here.

Receiving error messages when trying to install new apps or download any content

Delete any media (music, pictures, or videos) or unused applications to free up space from the internal memory.

If you do not want to delete any data, you can insert an external SD card into the phone.

To insert an SD card, remove the back cover from the phone. The SD slot is to the right of SIM card 2, and above the battery. Apps can be saved directly to the SD card by selecting the option from the app store.

If after clearing or adding memory, you still cannot download apps a hard reset may be needed.
