Archos 70b will not turn on ¶

You can not get your Archos tablet to turn on.

Hold the power switch to turn it on ¶

Do not freak out, first make sure the tablet is powered on by holding the ON/OFF button for 10 seconds.

Reset the power ¶

Near the Power button, there should be a pinhole reset button. In order to reach this, you should use a sharp object; a toothpick, needle, etc. Hold for 10 seconds and let go.

Low/bad battery ¶

If the battery is low, then the tablet does not have enough power to stay on. Plug in your charger for a hour or so. If it does not turn on after charging, then it might be a problem with the battery. You will then need to contact the company, as the battery is not user replaceable.

Making the battery last longer ¶

Check how much battery each app is using by going to (Setting->Battery).

Delete any unused wireless connections( WiFi, Bluetooth™, GPS, etc)

Decrease the screen brightness and the screen timeout time, in the Settings.

Unable to connect to the Internet ¶

Can not connect to the Internet

To connect to the Internet you need either one of the three options: a working WiFi connection, a working 3G/4G connection, or a working Ethernet connection(wired connection).

Can not connect to WiFi ¶

First make sure the connection is set up in Settings. Then check if the WiFi is turned on(having the switch be blue and ON). If it is, select your WiFi and log on using the right password if necessary To see if you are connected to your selected WiFi, go to (Settings->WiFi).

If you can not connect, please check your router. You may have to reset your router by holding the reset pinhole for 10 seconds. If that still does not fix the problem, you may have to contact your service provider.

Can not connect to 3G/4G ¶

Make sure your mobile data is activated. To do so, select( Settings->More...->Mobile Networks )and see if ON is selected. Usually, your 3G/4G should be automatically set up, if not you may need to set up your Access Point by providing your Mobile Network Provider information. If you are not receiving any signals, then you might be in an area where your mobile network is not covered.

Can not connect to my Ethernet(Wired Connection) ¶

An Ethernet (RJ45) cable must be connected to your device and also to your Internet router. If the connection is working, the LEDs should be turned on your router. If not, reset your router by holding the reset pinhole for 10 seconds or by contacting your Internet provider for support.

Unable to connect to Bluetooth™ ¶

Before anything, you have to make sure what you are connecting to over Bluetooth™ is not using Bluetooth™ 4.0. As Archos 70b, is not compatible with it.

If it is compatible, follow the Bluetooth settings. By going to (Settings->Wireless & Networks -> Bluetooth™. ) Once there, follow the on screen instructions and pair up your Archos to your other device.

No Sound coming of out the speakers ¶

No audio coming out of the device

No sound is coming out of the phone speakers/headphones ¶

First make sure your tablet is not set on mute/silent. You may use the Volume + and - buttons to raise up the volume on the device. You can also go into (Settings->Sound-> Volume of your device.) and raise the volume from there.

Unplug and re-plug your headphones and check the audio levels. There is a possibility that the headphone are damaged not the device.

Restart your device, by using a sharp object to hold down the reset pinhole for 10 seconds.

Certain images, video and/or audio files will not play any audio ¶

First step is to make sure the tablet has all of the features needed to play the files. Some files might need additional plug-ins in order to decode formats that the device can not support on its own. These plug-ins may be found on Google Play or Archos online store.

The person I am calling, can not hear me when I have a headset plugged in ¶

When you plug in a headset into the tablet, the device should display a headset icon, signaling that the headset is plugged in correctly and recognized by your device. If it does not recognize your device you might need another headset that is compatible with the tablet.

Camera is unresponsive ¶

The camera does not want to work correctly

The camera does not open up or only shows a black screen ¶

If the camera is not responding correctly or does not start correctly, you may need to repair the device's system by going into the recovery mode. WARNING: THERE ARE OPTIONS THAT MAY ERASE DATA.

-Turn off the tablet and wait 10 seconds.

-Press and hold the volume + button while powering on the tablet.

-Keep the volume + pressed until the Recovery Mode has started (White Screen).

-To move from option to option, use the volume buttons and press the ON/OFF button to select the option.
