Amazon Echo Glow Troubleshooting
The smart lamp device is unresponsive to voice commands through the Amazon Alexa The Amazon Echo Glow will not stop flashing red when it is turned on.
Amazon Echo Glow Does Not Respond to Voice Commands
Amazon Echo Glow is Not Powered On
Make sure the device is plugged in, and be sure to use the 5-Watt power adapter that comes with the device. This will ensure that the device will power on correctly. If this does not work, try using a different outlet. If the Amazon Echo Glow still does not respond to voice commands, it may be due to a faulty power adaptor or cable.

Amazon Echo Glow is offline and not paired to the Alexa App
The Amazon Echo Glow works exclusively with Amazon Alexa. The Amazon Alexa app is only compatible with Fire OS, Android, and IOS devices. If the Alexa app says the device is “offline” , try deleting the device from the app and pair the smart lamp again.
Amazon Alexa microphone is obstructed
The Amazon Echo Glow does not have a dedicated microphone. Instead, it uses Amazon Alexa to listen for voice commands. Oftentimes, the Amazon Alexa is obstructed by household furniture or background noise. This limits Alexa's ability to receive verbal commands through the microphone. To make sure that Alexa hears you, try moving Alexa away from any walls, plants, large furniture pieces, background noise or speakers. Then, try giving Alexa a voice command by saying “Hello” or “Did you hear me”.
Amazon Alexa app is not up to date
If the Amazon Alexa app is not up to date, users may experience performance issues with their smart devices and home controls. To make sure that the Alexa app is up to date, check your mobile device app store and check for any updates.
Amazon Echo Glow Light Flashing Red
Wi-Fi/Internet issues:
No Wifi connection can cause the light to flash red. Confirm your smartphone and Echo Glow have an active 2.4 Ghz Wifi connection. The Amazon Echo Glow does not support 5 GHz networks or connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks.
Amazon Echo Glow action button stuck
The smart lamp flashing red can be an indicator that the action button is faulty or that it is stuck, causing the echo glow to flash red. First, try gently pressing on the action button that is located on the back of the device. Listen for a click that it should make. If you don't hear a click or it feels like the button isn't pressing down like it should, that is a sign that the action button needs to be replaced. Microphone is muted:
Check that your device isn't muted, the light indicator is red when your device is muted. The Amazon Echo does not have a physical microphone instead, it uses voice command. Using the Alexa app, you can turn the microphone on and off, or you can try using a voice command. Try saying “Alexa turn off microphone” or “Alexa unmute”
Amazon Echo Glow is Frozen
The red light can be an indicator you need to reset your echo glow. Simply unplug the power adaptor from the wall outlet or the back of the echo glow. Wait 10 seconds and then plug it back in. If this does not work try to do a factory reset. You will need to press and hold the power button on the device for 15-20 seconds.
