Google Pixel 3 Rear-Facing Camera Replacement

5 hours

Difficult

My Problem

I had dropped my phone a while ago, and it landed right on the camera. The rear camera wasn't focusing properly after that.

My Fix

Everything went as planned, it just took a little longer than I thought it would. Even though this was my first repair, all the steps were very thorough which made this repair very doable. My phone is in great working condition, and now I have a brand new camera. The part that took the longest, was cutting through the adhesive, cleaning it off, and reapplying.

My Advice

If you don't have an iopener, just use a hair dryer to heat the adhesive, it worked just fine. Definitely buy the suction cup, the tweezers, the spudger, and the opening tool to scrape off the adhesive. All of these made the repair so much easier.
