iPad - Times two

My Problem

I was repairing an iPad for a friend as a Christmas gift - free labor. They'd already purchased the part, and I didn't notice (unfortunately) that the frame was more bent than I'd realized, so when I placed the repair part, it cracked. I should have done a thorough visual inspection.

My Fix

I ordered a second replacement, straightened out the frame with an iPad Adjustment Toolkit (hammer and plastic screwdriver), dry-fit the second replacement part about three times, and was able to get everything properly installed.

My Advice

Perform a complete visual inspection prior to starting ANY repair - that way you know well in advance what all of the areas that could affect the repair are identified and addressed
