My Problem
The logic board was dead.
My Fix
It was tough. The replacement logic board’s center button switch was damaged when I received it from iFixit. So I managed to remove the switch from the old logic board and solder it to the replacement. After this was complete, the iPod was fully functional again. I upgraded the unit to a compact flash drive as well and installed Rockbox. The results are amazing. I’m really loving it.
My Advice
Take your time and be creative in repairs. You can do a lot with a little.
