Successful Installation of Retina Screen!

My retina display shattered.

My Fix

The repair went well. It took me longer than estimated the first time I did the repair following the guide. But the repair guide is impressive and, if one is careful, foolproof.

My Advice

I say make sure you get exactly the right item. I see that people complain that the backlight is not working, or this and that, and that happened to me, too. Apple had changed their part slightly, and that made all the difference. iFixit provides a specific part and date, so I suggest that that be followed carefully.

Also, the second tier item was just about as good as the first tier item. Don't be afraid to go with that one.
