My Problem

My iPod has been drowned in the Mighty Missouri River not once, but twice! Last year I had to replace the logic board, the screen and also replaced the hard drive with a solid state drive after my favorite iPod rode in the bottom of my kayak under water for well over an hour. I had to be rescued along with my friend, after we got caught in a storm and my kayak and my friend's kayak sunk in the high winds and big waves. My beloved iPod was working great after that spendy little repair. Now this summer....... Same kayak, same river in SD. Silly me, not paying attention to a water hazard in my way, kayak tipped over, spilling out my phone, my Jeep keys, my bluetooth speaker..... and of course.... the same iPod! Being too late in the evening to try to recover any items, it wasn't until the next day, 24 hours later to be exact, that a scuba diver went down and retrieved my precious items. Fast forward to today. I am still using the same Samsung S7 phone (which needed some work to get it going again), The Jeep is on the road using the same key and fob, and of course, the iPod! The only repair I had to make to the iPod was replace the battery which shorted out after being at the bottom of the river for 24 hours. Thank you so much iFixit for getting my iPod breathing yet again!

My Fix

It was easy since I had previous experience taking the iPod apart last summer. The iFixit tutorial was very handy and helpful!

My Advice

DO NOT take your favorite iPod along kayaking! Well, at least make sure you have it secured in a dry lock compartment. Aside from that, keep iFixit in your favorites menu on your computer!
