The battery wasn't holding a charge
My Fix
The process, just like other comments said, was fairly easy once the iPod was opened. Thankfully got the old battery out and fully replaced, and works great!
My Advice
Opening the iPod is the most difficult part. I broke one clip in the process. My replacement battery was also slightly larger than the original, so a much tighter fit than the original. It took some careful shoving to fit the battery in.
