My Problem

My trackpad had been getting stuck for YEARS. I used a bluetooth mouse instead of the trackpad because of it. Then, my bluetooth stopped working and read as "unavailable." I thought I needed a new macbook, and had almost given up hope. Then I read a review that someone else fixed their trackpad by inserting a new battery! Sure enough, I tried using my macbook without the battery in and the trackpad I thought was broken for years WORKED FINE! MY battery was old and swollen. Check yours, if the battery door doesn't close correctly with the battery in you probably have the same issue.

My Fix

Battery works perfectly and holds a charge! It fixed my trackpad and bluetoth problems. My old battery was swollen and was reading as "replace soon" on the macbook. All of my issues were resolved with a new battery.

My Advice

If you think a new battery may fix your trackpad issues, try using your macbook plugged into the power cord without the battery inserted and see if the trackpad works. If so, order yourself a new battery!
