How to make your make your Mac Mini speedy, easy peasy

My Problem

My husband's Mac Mini has been dreadfully slow for months now -- boot it up and walk away for 10 mins slow. Beachball fest every minute or two slow. The Apple store guys couldn't find a specific culprit with their diagnostics, but they thought the hard drive might be so slow so that boot up and page file operations were affected.

My Fix

The drive transplant went much more smoothly than I expected. The instructions were precise and the user notes helped at every point where I had an additional question. The Mini now has a 500 gig SSD drive. It's super fast and my husband is super happy.

My Advice

Don't let the 30-some-odd step instructions intimidate you. It actually is pretty easy. Also, spring for the logic board removal tool.
