Second Repair a Breeze

iPad 3 Wi-Fi Front Panel Replacement

My Problem

Second time I've fixed this.

My Fix

This time: a easy peasy.

That's because the hard part is removing the screen and knowing where the potential pitfalls are. With a never-before-opened iPad, you have to be extremely patient and carefully loosen that adhesive. You don't want to destroy components inside. Plus, I had to chisel off glass shards last time; this time the damage was a single spider web crack in the center that I just taped over.

The last repair did not make the iPad "refurb worthy" but it worked and looked ok. But as a result, removing the digitizer this time was 2 minutes of applying the iOpener, and some gentle actions with the suction cup to pry it off, then gluing down the new one.

My Advice

If it's the first time you've opened the iPad, slow down, take your time and don't rush that process.
