MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011 MagSafe DC-In Board Replacement

1 hour

Moderate

My Problem

My old MacBook pro's magsafe port was shattered on the left side, causing it to short and not completely charge.

My Fix

The repair went really well. I'm my opinion Apple products have always been very modular, meaning most everything can be easily replaced or is easily accessible. Unlike the plethora of other laptops I have fixed in the past like HP's, Lenovo's, Dell's, Asus's, etc, Apple laptops are very very solid inside and out. No plastic snap on pieces and no sticky tape, everything either bolts, pops, or slides into place.

My Advice

ifixit not only provides the highest quality device repair tools you can buy but they also come with a support network with step by step tutorials or videos showing you exactly which tools in their toolset to use. There MacBook pro is the easiest laptop to fix out of any laptop out there. You shouldn't be afraid to fix anything in it on your own.
