A bad experience turned into a great one!

My Problem

I, unfortunately, had a broken screen due to dropping the phone on concrete.

My Fix

I ordered the display assembly replacement kit and received it nice and quick. However upon installing the screen, the auto brightness and home button did not work. Even though I swapped my original home button. I proceeded to remove the screen and check any connections and noticed that my digitizer and screen were separating - not all the screws were there, they were missing! I swapped my autobrightness sensor from my previous screen and that worked fine but my home button still didn't. I decided to contact iFixit about this defective unit and they had a brand new one shipped out to me next day! Installed it in about 20 minutes and everything is working great.

My Advice

Fully inspect your parts upon receiving them before installation.
