My Problem
My hard drive was an 750GB optical drive. I did not need that much storage and the drive was showing signs of fatigue, impacting the overall performance of my macbook.
My Fix
The replacement went like a charm.
My Advice
As usual in this type of operation, making sure to properly store the screws together is a great help when mounting back the pieces together. It is also good not to forget to retrieve the little side screws from the old hard drive to add them to the new one to properly position and maintain it in place.
