Moderate

My Problem

I just need to speed up the read and write speed of the disk, installing and using a second hard drive such as SSD will do the job.

My Fix

Taking out the optical drive and replacing it with an SSD went well just having some difficulty in putting back the logic board it took me a while to insert in back in the right spot.

My Advice

Upon replacing the optical drive to an SSD and using the SSD as the main OSX home. Start up processing time went up by almost 10 times faster than before(using installed HDD).

The only set back for me is the noise level that is coming out from the fan dedicated for the optical drive.

Is there a way to lessen the noise level? Do I have to disconnect the fan at all?
