My Problem
My iPod 120 gb classic battery, (original battery), would no longer retain a charge.
My Fix
Wow, Apple really did not want anyone to open these. The plastic tools included in the ifixit kit were pretty much useless, as they were damaged beyond use in the first few minutes of attempting to open the case. Once I managed to get the case opened, the actual process of replacing the battery was very easy. I finally managed to open the case using a few jewelers screwdrivers and exacto-knife blades with very minor cosmetic damage to the side of the face plate. Overall, I'm very happy with the ifixit kit and guide.
My Advice
Search the Internet or YouTube for a few different guides on opening the case before attempting it, as the good guides will show exactly where the MANY retaining clip positions are.
