My Problem
My Mac mini's performance took a sudden nose dive and the hard drive clicking was a dead give away — it was time to bust open my miniature Macintosh and replace the drive.
My Fix
The repair went much smoother than I expected it to. It's been several years since I've performed a repair like this and I was worried that I'd be a little rusty. But I has the whole thing finished within an hour.
My Advice
The most difficult part for me was getting the new hard drive in the proper position. The rubber grommets along this inside-front of the case were a little tricky to lineup with the screws on the hard drive. What made this part easier was to tip the Mac mini so that it was laying on its front, this allowed me to use gravity to my advantage and I had the hard drive seated properly in no time.
