My Problem
iMac was slowing down and discovered it had a hard drive reporting eminent failure. Replaced the HD with one I had on hand.
My Fix
Thanks to the guide from ifixit, this repair went smoother than expected. I had all of the appropriate screwdrivers and spudgers from a previous order, so I only needed the suction cups for this repair. All the tools worked beautifully. The suction cups made pulling off the glass super easy.
My Advice
The only real issue I had was the fact that the screws holding in the monitor are right next to those powerful magnets. This makes getting the screws in and out a tedious task. Long needle nose pliers are a must.
Also, I did not remove the connector in Step 6. It was not easy to get to, and I had plenty of room to work without disconnecting it.
