Difficult

My Problem

I took an iPod 6th gen apart to repair the on/off button but I ruined the LCD screen getting it off so now I needed a new LCD screen. I could not find a 6th gen LCD so I tried a 5th gen LCD screen.

My Fix

The repair went fine. It was a little tricky to get the LCD cables of the new unit plugged in correctly. The 5th gen LCD worked fine in the 6th gen unit.

My Advice

Be careful when removing the LCD. Had I known to use heat to loosen the LCD I may not have ruined it in the fist place. Also, pry the screen up on the end with the home button. Don't start in the middle of the LCD screen as it can bow the LCD and ruin it.
