My Problem
The old battery expanded and bent the touch pad up.
My Fix
The battery was the exact same one as the original Apple but with 0 cycles. The replacement was ridiculously easy. The guide helped. I had to unbend the touch pad which was tricky and I don't recommend it but as far as the battery goes it was a breeze.
My Advice
Do the work on a clean table with good lighting. Be very, very careful with the screws so that you don't drop them.
