My Problem
My Macbook was constantly nagging at me to 'service battery', and even gave me a wizard to booking an appointment at an Apple Store to get it fixed. 2 hours later, I learned my computer was 'vintage' (2009), so I bought the battery from iFixit.
My Fix
It was shockingly easier than I had originally expected. I decided to turn up the recommended screwdrivers because I have quite a collection. That being said, I did not have a tri-wing. However, I was able to get another specialty screwdriver to work.
My Advice
This is an easy repair, however, its important to reset the SMC afterwards or your computer may not recognize the new battery and continue to nag you about its high cycle count.
