My Advice
If you have doubts about buying a new Mac or upgrading yours, I would recommend upgrading it. Even if you're not happy with the new performance, you can still re-sell it and buy the new one.
In my case, I'm so happy with the upgrade I don't think I would need to buy a new one for the next couple of years!
