My Problem
Controller was dropped on left bumper button. After that had to press very hard to get button to work.
My Fix
repair went well. with the new driver kit and spudger. I was able to open the controller very easily with the help of the guide I found on the Ifixit site. Also found a tip on youtube on how to fix the problem.
My Advice
Found out this is a problem on older controllers where the button gets compressed from all the mashing. by adding a small piece of plastic(in my case I used a small piece cut from an old credit card) between the bumper and the button using double stick tape or glue it to the analog stick inside cover is all you need to get a good connection again.
