My Problem
Kids kept breaking the glass top screen. The first time I paid $106 to get it replaced locally. This time I decided to try it on my own and it was really quick and easy.
My Fix
It took about 2 hours total to take the old broken screen out and dig out all the small broken glass pieces. Then I removed all the old adhesive with alcohol and Qtips which took the most time. Applying the new screen is the easiest part.
My Advice
I bought the IFixit screen because I didn't want to buy a cheaper screen that others have reported that the digitizer was faulty which means you would have to replace the screen all over again with a working unit. So far so good on my repair, the kids have beat it up pretty good and it's working just fine.
